NextEra Commandos™
Our first breed, the NextEra Commandos™, are commercially bred, multi-trait meat sheep developed using the best available genetics and rigorous selection pressure.
Bred to reduce on-farm workload while increasing production and profitability, Commandos are well suited to both maternal and terminal breeding programmes.

A select group of two-tooth Commando rams will be available for sale this season.
NextEra Maternos
The NextEra Materno is our maternal shedding breed, developed for farmers looking to retain strong maternal performance while removing the workload and costs associated with wool.
Built from proven shedding genetics, the Materno breeding programme began with carefully selected two-tooth and mixed-age ewes sourced from several large commercial flocks. These ewes are being run alongside our Commando breeding programme, allowing the same rigorous commercial selection pressure to be applied.
Our aim is a white, low-input shedding sheep with strong maternal traits and the production performance commercial farmers expect from their existing flocks.
NextEra Genetics is developing purpose-driven shedding genetics at scale, combining strong commercial performance with lower-input sheep systems.

NextEra Genetics is led by stud breeders Sam & Viki Holland and Andrew & Sara Heard — two farming operations that share a vision for more profitable, efficient, and enjoyable sheep farming. We work in partnership with Willesden Farms, bringing scale and strength to the breeding programme.
